The 3 Biggest Beauty Trends We’ve Seen at New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week isn’t just a showcase of cutting-edge designs — it’s also where the next big beauty trends come to life.

From bold makeup statements to skin so luminous it practically glows, this year’s runways were packed with inspiring looks that are sure to influence our beauty routines in the months ahead. Whether you love dramatic eyes, dewy skin, or a fearless lip, the trends emerging from NYFW offer something for everyone looking to refresh their look.

1. The Bold Type

The old beauty adage “eyes or lips, but never both” was completely ignored this fashion week—and we couldn’t be happier. At Alice + Olivia, striking red lips were paired with full-coverage bases featuring rosy cheeks, bronzer, and a generous dose of radiant highlighter.

At Melke, dramatic ombré eyeshadow was extended to the temples, complemented by sculpted bright pink lips, creating a bold and artistic statement.

2. Glass Skin Galore

Rather than the usual bare-faced look, designers embraced a luminous glass skin effect on the runway. This ultra-dewy finish was achieved through meticulous skincare application. At Monse, models’ skin was prepped with hydrating treatments before a delicate touch of sheen-enhancing products was applied to the eyes, lips, and cheeks.

Glass skin also took center stage at Prabal Gurung for the second season in a row. Models received backstage facials using illuminating skincare, with standout products including hydrating mists and luminizing sticks that enhanced their natural glow.

For those looking to replicate the look without an extensive skincare regimen, highlighter is the go-to solution. At LoveShackFancy, makeup artists used golden champagne tones to create an ultra-dewy, almost wet-looking glow that radiated under the runway lights.

3. Smoke Shows

With the indie sleaze aesthetic making a major comeback, it’s no surprise that the smoky eye has returned as well. Nowhere was this more evident than at Anna Sui, where the signature smudged and sultry look made a striking impact.

At Kim Shui, makeup artists took inspiration from downtown trendsetters like Julia Fox and Gabriette. Models strutted the runway with cool-toned contouring and smudged winged liner blended seamlessly along the lower lash line, embodying a rebellious and effortlessly chic vibe.

“As the runways proved once again, beauty at New York Fashion Week is all about creativity, self-expression, and breaking the rules.”

From bold, multi-featured makeup to the revival of smoky eyes and the ongoing obsession with glass skin, these trends invite everyone to play with texture, color, and shine.
